Chef’s Table in The Libraries with Chris Scott and Tom Hishon

For one night only, award-winning chefs Chris Scott of renowned restaurant Sherwood and Tom Hishon of kingi will come together to host a very special degustation experience, served in the sumptuous surrounds of The Libraries at The Hotel Britomart.

With just 16 seats at sharing tables it will be an intimate evening, created for those who truly appreciate great food and wine. Over five delicious courses, chefs Chris and Tom will reveal their seasonal and beautifully presented approach to food, explaining each course as part of a gastronomic exploration of New Zealand’s best.

Aotearoa’s finest autumnal ingredients will shine on an unforgettable menu – including flavours like black pāua with karengo butter, truffle gougères, and Canterbury duck with guava and seasonal brassicas.

Both Tom and Chris have an ethos deeply focused on sustainable produce, which in Chris’s case involves growing it in Sherwood’s organic garden or foraging from the local area. Both chefs have a shared passion for showcasing locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and as well as a commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing.

The setting for the event will be no less spectacular than the food: diners will start the evening with a welcome drink and snacks in sumptuous surrounds of The Lounge before moving to the interactive Chef’s Library and loft-like Wine Library for the mains, and returning to The Lounge for petit fours and digestifs if they wish.

This innovative collaboration between Chris and Tom combined with the opportunity to journey through the different spaces of The Libraries promises a truly spectacular experience.
